Oh good, another DVD site review... yes, I know there are tons out there, and with more springing up by the day, it can be tempting just to say ‘sod it all’ and go with one of the big 2 - however, sometimes it pays to give the little guys a chance, so have a read through before you make any rash decisions!
You’ll find plenty of quality stuff here, from studios like Penthouse, Pandemonium and UnPlugged, although not everything on offer is totally top drawer, so you may have to search a little bit harder to find what you’re after. Of course, there are tons of niches covered, from amateur and Asian to fetish, MILF and voyeur with loads in between, so whatever mood you’re in, there will be something here that pretty much covers it. The site itself is easy to navigate, and unlike many of the smaller DVD sites, it actually looks really good too. The pricing is of course seriously impressive - you’ll get full, unrestricted access for as little as $9.95 per month with a year’s membership, although if you’re looking for a shorter term option, you can get a single month for around $18.00. There is an FAQ section, but it could maybe do with being a little more in depth, and it definitely needs a much clearer cancellation link - they obviously do not want their members going anywhere!

Navigation around Hotbox is really simple - to find the DVDs, all you need to do is click on the Movies tab, then choose whether you’d like them displayed by latest added, most viewed, top rated or in an alphabetised title list. You can also search via category, of which there are 43, although a few of them (like the fetish category) are pretty wide ranging - they could maybe benefit from the addition of a couple of extra niches, specifically Trans and Bi, as these movies are currently mixed in with the rest of the content, which may put a select few of you off your stride! You can also find movies via pornstar, and with their handy keyword search. The quality of the content here is good as a whole, and there’s plenty of great stuff to keep you amused, but if you do find anything that you’re not too sure about, the user ratings on the site are pretty spot on - handy when it comes to stopping you from downloading anything that you may later regret!
Videos
The 9,500 odd DVDs on Hotbox equate to around 47,500 scenes - in other words, when you take into account the daily updates, you will not get through them all in your lifetime...! The movies can all be streamed using the site’s state of the art Flash player, which has a thumbnail timeline that enables you to skip to whatever part you fancy - buffering is also incredibly quick, and I was, needless to say, suitably impressed with the playback quality. If you want to keep your movies on your hard drive, you can download them in 3 different sizes in WMV, or in iPod/iPhone format. My only mini gripe here is that the largest movie size available is 640x480, which doesn’t quite come up to the standards of many other sites on the web - however, all of the movies use H.264 video compression, and as such, are superb quality, despite the fact that they’re not in true HD. All in all, as a porn lover you could do a hell of a lot worse than Hotbox - and all at a credit crunch busting price to boot!
