Please don’t take offence if your name is Paul and stop writing that nasty email, I am not cursing at you and this is in fact the name of an adult site. Still don’t believe me, here is the welcome blurb to clear my name. “Hi guys, my name is Mel, and I'm 18. I got the job, and that is how fuckyoupaul.com started.” If you ask me she has got a few issues, but hey if she is willing to get naked then who are we to argue. This is in fact the sister site to one of our recently reviewed sites CuteRain.com which scored fairly well in our reviews with a very nice site and some really neat ideas. The two of these sites come as a package but as they have completely different designs and content I thought it was worth my while giving you the low-down on both of them separately.
The site is designed in a really smart black and red and is really nicely done it not only looks professional and slick but also does its job brilliantly. You are able to hop around the site with ease using the constant navigation bar. The site also uses several relatively new web technologies such as Ajax and Flash to make your experience that much better. I will go into each of these in the relevant sections so prepare yourself for a web coding crash course….and yes I am a nerd by the way!
With the site doing so well I’ve spotted their first slip up and, as is so often the case, it is with the support and help section. All that you are offered is an email link and this is something that is really going to drag down the site’s score in the reviews.
Content:
Mel, the star of the show, is a slim dark haired girl with a good pair of boobs on her. She isn’t my cup of tea but she certainly isn’t ugly and I would suggest taking at look at the samples on the right of the page to check to see whether or not she does anything for you. One thing has to be said and that is that she does have a slightly weird hair style and in my view does look a little like a cartoon character (don’t really know why but that’s just the first thing that struck me).
Mel doesn't get up to anything too hardcore and you are unlikely to even see any insertions. Mel does rope Rain (model from CuteRain.com) into some of her sets so you do get the odd girl on girl set on top of the regular solo girl stuff.
As with CuteRain.com, you get a selection of games to play on the site, but not just normal games as they are in fact all designed for use on the site. So for example as you go up through the levels of any of the games Mel begins to peel the layers back and the better you get the more you see! Needless to say, I was a veritable expert at guessing which shell the ball was under by the end of looking though the games section!
Much like CuteRain.com you also get a blog to flick through and Mel has written some notes on several of her photo shoots. You are also encouraged to leave comments for her. Which it appears she actually reads, as pretty much every comment that was made on her blog has prompted a personal response from Mel herself! It would be nice to take this to the next step and on top of the blog also offer a forum to make the conversations between Mel and the users easier.
Video Section:
These full movies are offered in the following download options HD .Wmv (1920 x 1080 with a bit rate of 4.09 Mbps), High .Wmv (1280 x 720 with a bit rate of 4.09 Mbps), Low .Wmv (800 x 450 with a bit rate of 1.62 Mbps) and IPod (368 x 208). This is a great selection of options with the HD quality being superb!
The videos have obviously had a lot of effort put into them and they are all in different locations meaning that they hopefully won’t get too stale and you won’t get bored of seeing Mel too quickly.
The down side to the videos is the fact that they are only updated twice a month and even for a solo site this is pretty bad. Yeah so the quality is there and there is also lots of effort put into the videos but with only 19 videos on offer even that isn’t going to stop you flying though them at an alarming rate. This site seriously needs to up their production rate so that the updates can come a little more often and let’s just hope that the quality doesn’t suffer as is so often the case.
Photo Section:
With the photos come all of the different technologies that I previously talked about. There is in fact a specially designed flash photo viewer which makes quickly flicking through the images an absolute breeze and, although you can’t get to the super high resolution images from here, I can certainly see this being well used by members of the site just because of the sheer ease of use and speed of it all.
If you want to view the photos in all of their glory you get to utilise anther web technology called AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) and all this means is that it uses JavaScript to run scripts without having to navigate to different pages and it all happens behind the scenes without the user seeing anything. So what does this mean for me I hear you asking….you didn’t, oh…..well I’m going to tell you anyway. It merely means that when you request a photo gallery from the drop down on FuckYouPaul.com it just loads up below without even changing pages and as if by magic you have access to all of the photos from that set. To be completely honest this isn’t really that useful and I just think that the web developer behind this site wanted to use AJAX somewhere on his site and this is the only place he could think to use it! The problem with doing it this way is that the only clue you get to what is in each of the galleries is the name of the set. This is due to the fact that you are choosing from a text based drop down. A much better way of doing it would be to offer some nice and simple preview shots.
The photos come in a resolution of 1280 x 851, which is pretty impressive, and you will have to view these images without any sort of image navigation and either rely on the smaller images from either the stand alone flash image viewer or the JavaScript version in the main photo area.
Updates are every 8 days which is better than the videos but that is to be expected; this still isn’t quite often enough for my liking.
